How listings are checked
A photo check helps sellers catch photo and pressing mistakes before a listing goes live. Photos can't show how a record plays, so the grade is the seller's, and the guarantee backs it.
What the photo check looks at
- Whether each photo is in the right place and clear enough for a buyer to judge.
- The catalog number and labels, compared with the pressing the seller picked.
- The color of the vinyl, compared with the pressing's.
- Damage you can see, like seam splits or ring wear, for the seller to add to the listing if it's there.
Who decides
- The seller. The check only suggests: nothing on a listing changes unless the seller says so. The one exception: a draft with a photo that isn't a record or its sleeve, or with photos of a different record, waits until the photo is retaken or our team agrees it's right.
- When a seller keeps a pressing or color the check questioned, our team may take a look.
- Buyers don't see the check's results. They see the seller's grade, the seller's own photos and the Customer Commitment Guarantee.
What it can't do
- Photos can't show how a record plays. That's what the seller's play test is for, and the guarantee covers playback faults a listing didn't disclose.
- It can miss things and make mistakes. That's why sellers decide, and why the guarantee backs every listing.
The check sends a draft's required photos from our server to Google's Gemini model through Lovable's AI gateway. Our Privacy Policy has the details.
